OUR VINEYARDS
From the first moment we planted we tried to go for a quality grape and, above all, adapt the vineyard to the soil, which is why we decided to do without water and irrigation.
Furthermore, we carried out the planting with a density (5000 plants / hectare) somewhat higher than usual.
In this way we obtain more yield per hectare but less production per plant, so that in global calculation we have more efficiency; since in the same area we obtain more leaf surface area for each kg. of grapes. We are currently at 1.1-1.2 kg per plant.
The formation was also carried out somewhat lower is usual referring to previous projects or a typical vineyard, in this way we have more daynight thermal contrast, and above all we have less transpiration, so there is less water consumption.
The goal that we have is to manage the plant, without water, managing the leaf surface so that it adapts to the soil, in this way we try to transmit a site, and thus every year we can make the same wine, transmit the annual differences that go in function of the soil, light and rain that has accumulated throughout the year.
